Some of the medications kill the bacteria on the skin and the pores and gradually by time, they decrease the breakouts and inflammation. Oral antibiotics may also be prescribed along with topical treatment depending upon the factor that how severe the acne is.

Accutane is also a treatment for severe types of acne. However, in case you undergo any type of treatment it is important to be patient as it takes time to recover from severe acne vulgaris.
